Luigi Vitagliano graduated in Chemistry at the University of Naples Federico II. He received a Ph. D. in Chemical Sciences from the same University in 1994. He became permanent staff scientist at the Centro di Studio di Biocristallografia of the CNR in 1997. Since 2001 he is senior scientist at the Istituto di Biostrutture e Bioimmagini of the CNR (from April 2010 he is responsible for UOS Napoli). Over the years, Dr. Vitagliano has been visiting scientist in several International Institutions (Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York (USA), IGBMC, Strasbourg (France), Rutgers University, Aarhus University (Denmark)) The research activities of Dr. Vitagliano are focused on the elucidation of structure/function relationships in biological macromolecules. He is or has been responsible of research projects funded by regional, national and international Institutions. Dr. Vitagliano is co-author of more than 100 publications reported in JCR Journals (including Nature Cell Biology, Blood, PNAS (3), Embo J, JACS (2), J. Neuroscience, Human Mutations (2) and NAR) and one patent. He also co-authored several other articles published in Books, Conference Proceedings and National Journals. |
