Portable devices for radioguided surgery
Contact person: Alessandro Soluri, alessandro.soluriibb.cnr.it

Description ▼
The aim of this activity is to develop new intraoperative devices for radioguided surgery.

Gamma probes are an important technology in the detection of sentinel lymph nodes as well as tumor detection. Radioguided surgery requires rapid and precise detection. We developed an innovative gamma probe that are capable of providing both spectroscopic and directional information and that would effectively improve the intraoperative radioguidance technique.

Imaging probes are useful when functional imaging helps surgeons to localize small and sometimes deep lesions. In this regard a portable gamma camera battery has been developed by a spin-off Company (IP-Guardian II).
