Born in Catania on 23rd June 1969. November 1992: Degree in Chemistry cum laude. 1993 stage in Millipore-Paris on Synthesis of RNA. June 1993: spent a research period at the CNRS in Paris. February 1993 research fellowship in University of Catania in collaboration with Fidia Farmaceutici spa. June 1994: School of NATO Advanced Study Institute on Bioinorganic Chemistry An Inorganic Perspective of Life in Rhodes, Greece. 1995 qualification as a Chemist, 1995-2001: research fellowship at the Department of Chemistry, University of Catania, Italy. November 2001: researcher at the Institute of Biostructures and Bioimages of Council National Research (IBB-CNR), UOS of Catania. Field of Interest: Spectroscopic characterization of bioactive molecules, protein fragments and their metal complexes. She is presently studying the role of metal-peptide interactions in neurodegenerative disorders and angiogenesis pathologies.
