CELLA Laura was born in Naples on 24th of July 1972

 Educations and academic degrees

2013: Award of the National Scientific Qualification (art.16 of the law 30 December 2010, n.240) from the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MIUR) as Associate Professor in Italian Universities (Applied Physics)

2003: Specialist in medical physics. Three-years Post-graduate Program in Medical Physics, University of Rome "La Sapienza" Topic: Biodosimetry in breast cancer patients.

1997: Laurea Degree in Physics (cum laude) - University of Naples "Federico II" Thesis: The effect of track structure on the induction of chromosomal aberrations in murine cells.

 Research areas:

The research activities focus on:

- imaging, planning, delivery and verification of external beam radiotherapy, including intensity-modulated, and particle beam radiotherapy

- quantitative analyses and modeling radiation induced  normal tissue effects

- development of novel radiation detectors

 Present position

2001 – current: Research Scientist  Institute for Biostructure and Bioimages (IBB),  National Council of Research (CNR), Italy

2003 – current: Consultant Medical Physicist at the University Hospital of Naples, Italy

2000-2001: Research Fellow at Physics Department , University of Naples "Federico II". Subject: Biodosimetry and radiotherapy optimization in breast and lung cancer

1999 - 2000: Research Fellow at Department of Radiation Medicine, Paul Scherrer Institut, Villigen, Zurich. (CH). Subject: Proton dosimetry and radiotherapy

1998 - 1999: Research Fellow at Division de Radio-Oncologie, Hopital Universitaire de Geneve (CH). Subject: Photon dosimetry and radiotherapy

Research program: Complication probabilities models for radiation-induced lung and heart toxicities in Hodgkin’s lymphoma survivors. Application of statistical learning methods.
