Silvana Del Vecchio is associate professor of Diagnostic Imaging and director of the School of Specialization in Radiation Oncology. From 2008 she is member of the Oncology Committee of the EANM and recently became member of the EORTC Imaging Group. During the last decade she has been the principal investigator of many research projects financially supported by National and European Institutions and has been member of the scientific committee of several scientific meetings as an expert of molecular imaging and nuclear oncology. She is associate editor of the Quarterly Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, official journal of the Associazione Italiana Medicina Nucleare, and works as reviewer for many scientific journals in the field of diagnostic imaging. Her research activities are mainly focused on the development and clinical validation of innovative approaches for tumor diagnosis and therapy using molecular targets and radiolabeled probes. She coordinates indeed the research activity of the molecular imaging laboratory of the institute where all projects are characterized by a deep insight in the molecular aspects of image formation with the main purpose to identify imaging biomarkers suitable for cancer patients selection and monitoring.
