Description: My scientific interests include themes of environmental chemistry related to human health, computational chemistry, as well as the organic synthesis of various compounds. These are benzodifurans, 2,2'-disubstituted 2-propanones, artificial amino acids, nucleoamino acids, fructosyl-amino acids.... Nevertheless, I am continuing my solid phase synthesis activity for the realization of various peptide-like molecules. Oligo-epsilon-lysines or more in general oligo-diamino acids, nucleobase-bearing peptides are only some examples of the products of my synthetic research in this context.For all these classes of molecules, whose computer-assisted evaluation is performed in collaboration with other researchers, I study the possibility to interact with targets of biomedical importance by CD and UV spectroscopies.My biomolecular targets consist e.g. in nucleic acids [poly rA (3' mRNA tail), G-quadruplex forming DNAs et.c.], peptides and proteins (HIV RT, serum albumins et.c.) and still others.I test metal-ion [Cu (II), Ni (II)..] binding of my molecules by UV, whereas I use DLS for investigating their supramolecular assembly, which often influences their activity.The possible applications that I am studying for my compounds belong to the fields of anticancer, antiviral and anti-neurodegeneration therapies, but other new horizons are opened.
