The meeting was held at CNR-IBB Montelibretti to discuss and improve the future partnership between CNR-IBB and the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the University of Peking..

The meeting was attended by Prof. Qiushi Ren, Director of BME Dept. of the prestigious Chinese University, as Invited speaker at the Workshop on technologies for Small Animal Imaging. He also visited the laboratories within which the technologies were developed by researchers of the Biomedical Imaging Group.

The agreement includes a research collaboration with CNR-IBB, through the development and delivery of 10 detectors for SPECT applications, to be applied in some industrial prototypes (Quad modality: PET / SPECT / CT-Fluorescence) for their use in basic research.

This agreement opens the way for greater collaboration between the CNR-IBB and the University of Peking, to develop, jointly, diagnostic equipment for clinical use and radio-guided surgery. Dr. Alessandro Soluri, Responsible of the Research Unit of Rome of the CNR-IBB, he explained the activities of its Group and the technologies already developed, he has illustrated the new research programs, which can be formalized as soon as possible, with the additional subscription agreements.
