Born in Naples on 4th May 1968. 1991: Degree in Pharmacy summa cum laude at University of Naples Federico II (Italy). 1994: Postgraduate specialisation summa cum laude in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at University of Naples Federico II. 1992-1995 CNR Fellowships at the Centre of Biocrystallography, Naples. 1995-1996: Fellowship at Department of Chemistry at University of Naples Federico II. 1996-2000: Research assistent at Biotechnology Faculty of University of Naples Federico II. From 2001 to present day: Researcher at Biostructure and Bioimaging Institute-CNR, Naples. 2001-2002: External Scientist at Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Barcelona-Spain. 2004-2005: contract Professor of General Chemistry at Science Faculty of MM. FF. NN-University of Naples Federico II. 2006-2008: Contract Professor of General Chemistry at Biotechnology Faculty of University of Naples Federico II. The scientific interests of Dr. Zaccaro concern both the development of new molecules with specific activities or able to interact with specific molecular targets, and the structure-activity relationship studies of bioactive systems to understand the molecular device for the biological activity. Dr. Zaccaro has experience in the field of rational design of peptide and peptido-mimetic systems, synthesis in solution and on solid phase, purification by chromatography techniques, structural characterisation by mass spectrometry and spectroscopic techniques and interaction studies by surface plasmon resonance.
