Dr. Marilisa Leone was born on April 28^th 1975. She gained a Master Degree in Chemistry (110/110 cum laude) in 1999 and a PhD in Chemical Sciences (Subject: protein NMR) in 2003 from the University “Federico II” of Naples. She was largely trained in the field of NMR-based drug discovery at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research in San Diego (USA) (2002-2003 and 2005-2009). In 2009 she was recruited as a permanent Researcher by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR-IBB). She is to-date co-author of more than 70 articles on international peer-reviewed journals and editorial board member of the NPG journal “Scientific Reports” and MDPI journal “Molecules”.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCES: Protein expression and purification, NMR data acquisition and analysis, design of peptide/small molecule libraries for NMR-based screening approaches, NMR screening techniques, protein and peptide structure calculations by NMR data, molecular docking techniques & structure-based drug design.
